In addition to the ticketed events this years festival offered over 90 free live music performances in the streets, pubs and clubs in Cheltenham.
We visited the recently opened Bottle of Sauce pub where we enjoyed a warm and friendly welcome. The food was good, and we were entertained by the energetic and lively music from the Heavy Beats Brass Band. They marched through the bar and into the performance area, playing their brass and percussion instruments as they went. Later in the evening we made our way to Harry Cook Free House in Montpellier. Here we were lucky enough to catch another amazing musical performance, this time from Bex Jazz Quintet. Both of the venues we visited were bustling with jazz fans. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm for live music in Cheltenham. We really enjoyed our evening out.
